Carl is a Principal in the
Enterprise Risk
Management division at The Bonadio Group.
Prior to joining The Bonadio Group, Carl served as
a Technical Marketing Manager with a $1 billion information technology supplier,
a Business Development consultant with a national engineering and consulting
firm, and a Systems Engineer with an international electronics distribution
company.
Carl has more than 28 years of experience in Information Technology and
Information Systems Architecture, Deployment, Project Management, Security by
Design, and Governance.
His expertise in Technology Controls, Physical,
Administrative, and Technical Security, System Development Life Cycling,
Enterprise Risk Management, Business Impact Analysis, and Disaster Recovery
Planning has been applied across companies with 10 to 15,000+ employees in
multiple markets.
That, along with over 12 years in auditing and
standards compliance experience in HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, SAS70, SAS94, SAS109,
Graham-Leach Bliley, PCI DSS, International Standards Organization 17799, FERPA,
FISMA controls, and the successful application of the best practices of ISACA,
COBIT, COSO, OAG, OVAL, ITIL Foundation, and AICPA, creates a valuable and
unique blend of talent.
Carl holds a BS degree from Niagara University.
He is a member of the Information Systems Audit and
Control Association (ISACA), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA),
Systems Administration Networking and Security Institute (SANS), and the
Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
He is a certified HIPAA Privacy and Security
Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified GIAC PCI
Auditor and holds a Master Certification in Computer Forensics from the IEEE.

June is a Manager in the Healthcare Compliance Solutions
division at The Bonadio Group.
She is a Registered Professional Nurse with more
than 25 years of supervisory experience in acute and long-term care settings,
and home health care.
For fifteen years, June held the positions of
Director of Nursing Services, Director of Residential Services, and Director of
Continuous Improvement with a large not-for-profit agency in the field of Mental
Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.
In addition to her clinical background, June holds a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management.
She has extensive experience in organizational
management including strategic planning, regulatory compliance, Medicaid
compliance, wage and salary review, administrative investigations, performance
management, team building, continuous quality improvement, incident management,
budget management, corporate compliance, HIPAA implementation, and policy
development.
June’s expertise in the health and human service sectors
has provided her with the ability to transfer that knowledge and experience to
providers of Medicaid-funded programs in the areas of developmental
disabilities, behavioral health, clinics, home health, long term care, and
school-based services.
June has received certification in MDS, OMRDD Abuse, Death
and Administrative Investigations and serves as a member of the NYS Surrogate
Decision Making Committee.
She is a member of NYS Association of Community and
Residential Administrators (NYSACRA), New York State Rehabilitation Association
(NYSRA), and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), is active in
hospice, and serves as a Board Member of several non-profit organizations.
Carol currently serves as the Managing
Partner of Iseman, Cunningham, Riester & Hyde, LLP.
She
practices primarily in the areas of health care law and business transactions.
She has counseled a variety of health care-related
clients, including hospitals, nursing homes, diagnostic and treatment centers,
drug and alcohol treatment centers, hospices, independent practice associations,
third-party administrators, and private physicians and practitioners with
respect to a full range of issues such as corporate and regulatory compliance,
reimbursement, negotiation of contracts, employment and employee benefits, and
real estate matters. Carol
has substantial experience in the development of health care facilities and
their financing. She
also represents not-for-profit organizations and closely held businesses outside
the health care field.
Carol has lectured on a wide range of topics, including contracting with physicians, the "Stark" law and fraud and abuse, confidentiality of medical records, advance directives, tax-exempt organizations, violence in the workplace, powers of attorney, and charitable giving for various organizations, including the New York State Bar Association, the Hospital Education and Research Fund of the Healthcare Association of New York State, The Community Foundation for the Capital Region, and the New York State Ambulatory Health Care Association.
Carol holds a juris doctor degree from
Albany Law School of Union University.
She is a member of the American Health Lawyers
Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Albany County Bar
Association.
Paul is a Manager in the Healthcare Compliance Solutions
division at The Bonadio Group.
He is a healthcare professional with more than 10
years of experience in not-for-profit settings.
Paul has held the positions of Corporate Compliance
Officer, Director of Corporate Compliance, Process Integrity Coordinator, and
Case Manager for agencies regulated by OMRDD, OMH, and OASAS.
In addition to his professional background, Paul holds a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science from the University of Buffalo.
He also holds a Master of Public Administration
Degree from SUNY Brockport and a Master of Business Administration Degree from
the William E. Simon School of Business Administration at The University of
Rochester.
Paul brings extensive experience in HIPAA, policy and
procedure development, medical record room management, Medicaid compliance, and
leading and implementing corporate compliance programs to The Bonadio Group.
Marcia is a partner at Iseman,
Cunningham, Riester & Hyde, LLP.
She joined ICRH in 1998 and practices primarily in
the health care area. She
handles regulatory and transactional matters for a wide range of clients,
including health care systems, hospitals, physicians, and insurers.
Marcia
has significant experience in the areas of not-for-profit corporation law,
corporate compliance, tax-exempt financing, Medicare and Medicaid billing, and
tax exemption. She
assists health care providers in structuring joint ventures, business
transactions, and acquisitions that comply with the evolving health care
regulatory environment.
Marcia is an officer of the Health Law
Section of the New York State Bar Association.
She
is a contributor to the Health Law Section's blog, Supraspinatus, and has
lectured to health care providers on numerous topics, including fraud and abuse,
not-for-profit regulation, and HIPAA.
She is also a member of the American Health Lawyers
Association and the Albany County Bar Association.
Before earning her juris doctor degree from Albany law School of Union University, Marcia served as an officer in the United States Navy. She then worked as a research associate at a federally funded research and development center and as a program analyst for the U.S. Department of Energy.
